Chronicle of Zizhou Events in the Ming Dynasty Period

In August of the second year of Hongwu (1369), the Yuan general Kong Xing was defeated and fled to Suidezhou.

In the fourth year (1371), the general Tanghe stationed in Suidewei and the territory belonged to Ming.

In the ninth year (1376), many Shanxi residents moved here. Record of Zhili Province in Suide contains: "Move the people of Fen, Ping, Ze, and Lu in Shanxi to Hexi, and reclaim the land for inheritance."

In the third year of Longqing (1569), the Jiuniu Mountain in Huangtuwa collapsed into winding ditch.

In the first year of Chongzhen (1628), there was severe drought and starvation in northern Shaanxi. Wang Jiayin, a farmer in Fugu, gathered for an uprising, and Bu Zhanni in Xichuan (namely Zhang Cunmeng) raised troops to respond. In November, Miaomei in Xichuan (namely King Huntian), Wang Zuogua and other hungry people revolted. There were three or four thousand.

In the first month of the third year (1630), Wang Zishun and Miao Mei that are hungry people led the uprising troops to siege Hancheng from the south, and the Ming army lost. Yang He, governor of Hou Sanbian, and Liu Guangsheng, governor of Shaanxi, joined forces to "encircle and suppress". The rebel army died three thousand, was defeated back to Qingjian, and returned to Xichuan. At that time, Miao Meishu, Miao Dengwu and Miao Dengyun also uprised. Commander Du Wenhuan went all out to "encircle and suppress." Wang Zuogua, Miao Dengyun, and Miao Dengwu surrendered successively, and Miao Mei, Feishanhu, and Da Honglang were killed.

In summer, unbearable by Ai Tongzhi, Li Zicheng defected to Mizhi Xichuan Rebels.

That year, Zhang Xianzhong and Luo Rucai held 18 villages such as Wujiashan, Dangjiaping, and Xuejiaya and more than 1,900 hungry people rebelled. Zhang Xianzhong set up his own army and became the eighth king of Xiying.

In the autumn of the year, Bu Zhanni left Yannan and launched the hungry people in Mizhi, Suide, and Qingjian to continue the uprising. At that time, Xichuan "kiln villages were dangerous, sixty out of four." All the land was occupied by the rebels. Among Yansui rebels, "Xichuan was the most." One person uprising, the whole family followed; one village uprising, "each village echoed." There were few people and all rebels.

Year after year, there was severe drought with no harvest.

In the May of the fourth year (1631), Bu Zhanni attacked Mizhi and Jiazhou unfavorably and retreated to the Dali River. Yansui governor Hong Chengchou and Zhang Yingchang led Ming troops to station in Shuanghuyu to suppress the rebels. Bu Zhanni fled to Guanshanling and Sima Ke chased after him. Shuang Chihu, the subordinate, was killed by Bu Zhanni. Who offered Zijinlong to surrender (later rebel). Li Zicheng was spared from hiding in the mountains, and Zhang Cunmeng's remaining tribes were owned by Li Zicheng.

In December, Zhang Xianzhong and Luo Rucai led their troops to pretend to surrender to Hong Chengchou.

This year, the Ming commander Cao Wenzhao, together with guerrillas Zuo Guangxian, Cui Zongyun, Li Guoqi and other five “encircled and suppressed” rebels in Heishuiyu, Mianhuyu, and Fengjiagou of Huainingchuan, chasing Qijiagaoliang and King Choushansaodi was killed.

In March of the fifth year(1632), Zhang Cunmeng was defeated, captured, and killed by the Ming government in Suide.

Wang Chengen suppressed the rebels in Xichuan, and Qiao Liulang, the leader of the rebels, surrendered to the Ming army.

In the ninth year (1636), some soldiers of Li Zicheng's army returned to Yansui, "wander around in beautiful clothes with their relatives in the streets" (The Record of the Fleeing Bandits). Many people in this area joined the rebels.

In the tenth year (1637), Qiao Guangrong, one hundred household, built Nanfengzhai.

In the first month of the seventeenth year (1644), Li Zicheng proclaimed himself the emperor in Xi'an, the country was named Dashun, the country of Yongchang was built, and the territory belonged to Dashun. On March 19th, Li Zicheng entered Beijing. Later Qing soldiers entered, Qing king crossed the Yellow River to take Suide and the territory belonged to the Qing.
