Liu family compound, located in Wohu Bay, lixiaohe Township, Zizhou County, is a typical cave complex in Northern Shaanxi. The courtyard is composed of three courtyards: old, old and new. With different times of construction, their shapes and styles are also different. It is a witness of the hard work and prosperity of the Liu family. It is also the "specimen" of cave architecture in Northern Shaanxi and a typical example of residential buildings. The old house of Liujia courtyard was built in the late Qing Dynasty. In addition to the front five hole kiln, there are three chamber kilns on both sides of the East and the West. The south of the house is also built with inverted stone cave and animal shed. The most distinctive feature is the four "double halls" on the leg of the five hole kiln. "Shuangtanger" is equivalent to the "boudoir" and "xiulou" of the farmhouse. It opens windows and is full of light and very bright. Therefore, it is an excellent place for women to do needlework.
The old Liu family compound was first built in the 1930s, rebuilt in 1997, and transformed into a stone corridor in 2014. It is not only full of classical architectural charm, but also traditional cave style. It is a good house with warm winter and cool summer and pleasant four seasons. The new residence of Liu's courtyard is located in the east of the old house, covering an area of 16 mu, with a total construction area of 3900 square meters. It is a two-way courtyard building imitating the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Construction started in 2013, and after 13 months of intensive construction, it was completed on September 9, 2014. The newly completed Liujia courtyard is a brick (stone) wood structure antique building in the upper and lower courtyard. It is built along the mountain, facing the Guishan mountain and facing the direction. The house is stable and continuous, with beautiful mountains and screen cases. The four mountains are affectionate and the forest and grass are verdant. It is a natural geomantic treasure land and a good residence for human settlements.
Liu family compound is also the base of filial piety culture education in Zizhou County, and is a national AAA level scenic spot.
